BRA to Open PK Lake Dam for first time since November 2021

The Brazos River Authority will open a gate today, Thursday, July 6, at noon from Possum Kingdom Lake’s Morris Sheppard Dam. The release rate will be about 9,600 cubic feet per second.

There hasn’t been a gate release from PK since November of 2021, so the river is going to look very different than we’ve seen in a while. Be careful if you intend to be on the water downstream.
