Mike Olcott to Challenge Representative Glenn Rogers for HD60 Seat in Next Election

Conservative grassroots leader running again.

In his last race against Rogers, Olcott lost in a runoff after he asked for a recount of the votes when a human error was discovered in Parker County. He came within 300 votes of winning Parker County after the recount, but with 70% of the vote in Palo Pinto and Stephens County going to Rogers, Olcott failed to win the election. He has decided to make another run at HD60.

Conservative Grassroots Leader and Parker County resident Mike Olcott announced the launch of his campaign for Texas House District 60.

“I am running because residents of House District 60 deserve a Representative who will truly represent them rather than the uniparty in Austin,” said Olcott. “Voters are fed up with an open border and skyrocketing property taxes. I will work to deliver real results, not campaign rhetoric.

Texas can only be a lighthouse for the nation if we have courageous legislators willing to fight for us.”

A retired biochemist, Olcott has spent the last 18 years as a conservative activist fighting against illegal immigration and skyrocketing property taxes while also tirelessly advocating on behalf of the unborn.

Olcott was a Republican Precinct Chair in Parker County from 2014 until 2021 and served on the State Republican Executive Committee in Senate District 30 from 2015-2016. While on the SREC, he advocated strongly for election integrity.

In 2015, Olcott co-founded Parker County Conservatives which is one of the top conservative activist organizations in Texas.

Following the receipt of his doctorate in biochemistry from the University of Kentucky in 1994, Olcott served as a postdoctoral fellow at Stockholm University in Sweden and Oregon State University where he conducted research centered on the detection of nucleotide-binding sites on enzymes critical for the metastasis of cancer cells. During this time, he authored or co-authored nine scientific publications.
