Dacey Renee Malone

With tear-stained joy, we announce that Dacey Renee Malone went home to be with her Lord on Thursday, November 16th 2023. Dacey was the daughter of Johney and Rebecca Smith, born on June 13th 1970. Dacey proved that she could overcome adversity at a young age. Her yearbook quote her senior year was, “Hope for the best, prepare for the worst, and take what comes.” After graduating from Mineral Wells High School with honors in 1988, she went on to Executive Secretarial School in Irving where she graduated as a legal secretary. She then furthered her education to become a paralegal and spent several years in that profession.

She married the love of her life, Greg Malone in 1995, at Worth Ranch in Palo Pinto, Texas, where she had strong family ties. Together, they decided they did not want to raise their kids in the big city, so they moved back to Mineral Wells where Dacey took a job in the banking industry. She was a consummate professional and a friend to everyone, which led to her excelling upon her return to her hometown. Her accolades are too numerous to list, but included:

Chamber of Commerce Board of Directors 2010-2019

Chairman of the Chamber of Commerce 2013

Zonta Club President 2013-2014

PPCLA officer 2019-2023

Outstanding Individual Member COC 2014-2015

Mineral Wells Woman of the Year 2015.

She was preceded in death by her brother Bryan Folwell, grandparents, Jeff and Doll Robinson, her aunt Karen Robinson, her niece Amberly Isham.

Survivors include her husband Greg Malone, her daughters Courtney Shipp and partner Andrew, Mason and Patrick Bohannan, and Peyton Malone. Her parents Johney and Rebecca Smith, brother Cale Isham his wife Alyssa Isham, in laws Donna and Kevin Lee, Rick and Teresa Malone, grandchildren Emery, Emmett, Kingston, and Tallulah, and numerous other nieces, nephews, cousins and other family members.

She will be missed by all those who were lucky enough to know her.

Visitation will be from 3:00-5:00 Sunday November 19th at Baum-Carlock Baumgardner Funeral Home in Mineral Wells. Services will be held at the Palo Pinto Cowboy Church, 2731 South FM 129, Santo, Tx at 2:00 on Monday November 20th. Graveside service to follow at Staggs Prairie Cemetery.

Dacey’s favorite color was blue, and the family has requested that guests wear blue in lieu of black at the service.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Palo Pinto County Livestock Association, P.O. Box 281, Mineral Wells, Tx 76068 in her name.
