Preztynn Harrison has one more year to shine on the Mineral Wells gridiron, then he plans to take his football talents to the High Plains as a Texas Tech Red Raider.

A 2025 four-star tight end recruit, Harrison on Sunday announced his non-binding commitment to play for the Raiders in the Big 12 Conference through a social media post on X (formerly Twitter.) He will be eligible to sign with Texas Tech in December.

“I would like to thank my mom, my dad, and my little sister for always being by my side,” Harrison posted. “I would like to thank all of my coaches who have helped me along the way. I want to thank all of my teammates for pushing me on the field and in the weight room. Thank you to all of my teachers who have helped me in the classroom throughout the years. Thank you to all of the schools who have shown interest in me and believed in me. After a lot of thoughts & prayers, I am excited to announce that I am coming to Texas Tech University! Wreck ’em!!!”

A 6-4, 220-pound multi-sport athlete (football, basketball and track), Harrison also held offers from North Texas, Arkansas State and Texas State.

247 Sports lists Harrison as the 26th-best overall tight end nationally in the 2025 recruiting class and third-best in Texas. The recruiting website ranks Harrison as the 60th-best overall 2025 recruit in Texas.

On3 places Harrison as the 10th-best tight end in the state for 2025 and the 32nd-best overall recruit in the Lone Star State.

This past season the Class 4A-Division I junior had 17 receptions for 374 yards, a 22-yards-per-catch average. He had 10 touchdowns, eight coming on receptions. He also ran for 141 yards on just 13 carries, averaging 10.8 yards per run for the Rams.

Harrison also plays in the secondary on defense and stars on the basketball court and the track. He was named first-team District 6-4A this past season in basketball. As a sophomore, Harrison qualified for the Class 4A high jump finals. He placed second at regionals with a jump of 6-4. He was also a long jump qualifier, recording times of 11.60 and 23.08 in the 100m and 200m sprints, respectively.

The Red Raiders now have 10 commitments for its 2025 recruiting class, now ranked by On3 as second in the Big 12 and 21st nationally after Harrison’s four-star commitment.
