Former Mayor Lawsuit Dismissed Against City

Former Mayor Christoper Perricone filed suit against the City of Mineral Wells back in 2019, just three months before he forfeited his position as Mayor when it was discovered he was in arrears with the City for taxes he owed.

He was removed from office in February 2020 and the case he filed has dragged on for years in the courts.
Finally, Mineral Wells Area News can report that a Final Judgment has been issued on November 9, 2023, by US District Judge Reed O’Connor and Perricone’s case against the City has been dismissed.
It has been dismissed with prejudice which means he cannot assert those same claims again. He has 30 days to appeal to the 5th Circuit’s Court of Appeals.

The documents attached are the Final Judgment and Memorandum Opinion and Order that explains the facts through the duration of the suit.
MWAN is awaiting a statement from City Officials and will bring you more information as soon as it’s available.
