Mineral Wells Ag Teacher Beau Stutts is definitely considered a hero to many local families involved in 4H or FFA, however this past August the rest of the community got to see how much of a hero he really is.

In the early morning of August 8th, when Stutts was pulling up to the Junior High to drop off his 8th grade son, he noticed a Mineral Wells police officer struggling to apprehend a subject. Stutts quickly jumped out of his truck and into action to help the officer.

At the September 17th City Council meeting, Chief Police Tim Denison awarded Stutts with an “Outstanding Citizen” plaque.

“Presented to Beau Stutts in recognition of your exceptional bravery and dedication in assisting Officer Teddy Beavers on 8-8-24. Your quick assistance and courage exemplifies the highest standards of community service. Thank You for making our community safer and stronger,” read Denison.

After the plaque was awarded, Mayor Regan Johnson praised Stutts for his bravery.

“In a world where most people would just pull out their cellphone and start recording, be a Beau Stutts,” Johnson said.
