If you are one to follow social media postings about the happenings in Mineral Wells, you are well aware of the musings about Popeyes coming to town. The mumblings have been nonstop, but the wait is finally over.

The popular fried chicken franchise finally opened its doors on Monday October 21st after it was announced almost a year ago that the corporation would build a storefront at 2501 E Hubbard where a dry cleaning business once stood before the building was leveled.

The newly constructed eatery, whose official name, Popeyes Louisiana Kitchen, serves up regular fried chicken as well as a spicy version for that Cajun kick, as well as red beans & rice, French Fries, Mac&Cheese, and of course their ever-loving southern biscuits. However, if a chicken sandwich is what ya fancy, they have those too. Spice or no spice!

The new restaurant offers a single cashier station to take your order if you want to interact with a human, as well as three stand alone kiosks for ordering your food and a mobile station to pick up online orders.

The dining room itself is pretty small with limited seating, providing just four tables and a counter height table with eight stools for sit down eating.

However, what they did lack in dining space, they made up for in parking. There are ample spaces to park Texas size vehicles as well as enough room to get around the double drive thru lane to maneuver around the building.

The store is open daily from 10am to 11pm and offers dining room service, drive thru, as well as online/mobile ordering for pickup and delivery.

At publication time, online ordering was unavailable and shows the Weatherford location as the nearest store, which obviously is incorrect. Employees were unaware when mobile ordering would become available.

Please give this new business some patience as they work out all of the nuisances.
