November kicked off our annual NewsMatch crowdfunding campaign and this year we have several ways to help MWAN keep local news FREE and one lucky donor is going to win two tickets to an extremely popular musical event next Spring.

Hang tight Cross Canadian Ragweed fans and keep reading how you might score a pair of tickets to their reunion concert in April.

As members of the Institute for Nonprofit News, we have once again qualified for the amazing NewsMatch funding campaign. The nation wide program allows nonprofit newspapers to crowdfund the last two months of the year and then matches the funds pledged with a dollar for dollar matching grant from The Knight Foundation.

Possibly we could earn grants totaling $25,000, enabling us to hire more reporters to cover MORE news.

There are four ways Mineral Wells Area News can raise funds in November & December through grant matches. NewsMatch enables MWAN to raise operational expenses for the year and allows us to keep the cost of producing local news to a minimum.

How can you help??

#1 NewsMatch GrantGives a Dollar for Dollar Match (up to $1000) for any INDIVIDUAL donations made to MWAN in November/December. This program is capped at $15k.

#2 NewsMatch Community Match Grant Gives MWAN up to $4500 in a grants when local Businesses & Civic Organizations pledge Partner Funds.

#3 Newsmatch Bonus Grant $1000 will be awarded to MWAN if we can secure 50 brand NEW donors in November/December! Check Out Our CCR Reunion Concert Raffle deets down below.

#4 Rural News Network Grant will match any funds dollar for dollar for up to the first $3000 MWAN receives. (Can be duplicate donors from NewsMatch contributions)

With the support of businesses like you, we hope to earn $25,000 throughout our NewsMatch campaign, enabling us to keep delivering in-depth, insightful
journalism.

And finally…Where are all my Cross Canadian Ragweed Fans who missed out on their highly coveted reunion concert tickets?? Here’s your chance!

The First 50 NEW Donors who pledge a minimum of $25 or more will be entered into a drawing for two tickets to the CCR Reunion concert being held in Stillwater Oklahoma next April.

If you believe local news is important and love the work we’re doing, please contribute here today!

If you can go above and beyond with a donation to our campaign, you will get our NewsMatch campaign off to a strong start and help keep MWAN going in 2025 and beyond.
