Hot Sauce Challenge Making a Comeback

The Mineral Wells Noon Lions Club is ready to fire up the town again with the “Ol’ Gringo Chili Co. Hot Sauce Challenge” while bringing some Christmas cheer to local kids in need.
Head over to the Crazy Water Hotel on Saturday November 23rd at 1:00pm to watch locals test how much heat on the Scoville scale that their tongues can take by testing hot sauces.
Aside from bragging rights, which haven’t happened since 2019, the last man standing who goes without drinking any water while tasting hot sauces will win 100 bottles of hot sauce adorning their name or business logo as their trophy.
The reigning champ, local Chamber of Commerce President Seth Hobbs, is out of town during the event so there will be a new champion crowned this weekend.
Will it be our local high school quarterback Owen Gadd? Or maybe Clear Fork Bank’s own Cody Cloud?? City Council member Kyle Kelly is up for the challenge as well as local police officer Juan Saucedo.
While the event is designed to see who can stand the heat, the ultimate goal is to raise money for local kids in need.
Please bring an unwrapped gift for children ages 13-18 to The Hot Sauce Challenge so the Lions Club can gather gifts for local kids this holiday season.
Bring all of your family and friends to cheer on the contestants and help raise money for the Mineral Wells Noon Lions Club and Mineral Wells Center of Life! The event will be held in The Crazy Water Pavillian from 1-4pm on Saturday.
