Rams, Lady Rams looking to make strong second-half push

The Mineral Wells Rams and Lady Rams are looking to rebound from recent tough losses tonight on the road at Stephenville.
It was Tough Tuesday this week as both squads fell at home to Glen Rose. The Tigers bested the Rams, 75-44, closely mirroring the outcome of their first meeting. The loss dropped the Rams to 5-23 on the season and 1-5 in District 6-4A action.

The Lady Rams had an equally difficult time with the Lady Tigers, falling 57-26 to Class 4A’s third-ranked team. The loss dropped the ladies’ record to 15-15 on the year and 0-8 in District 6-4A. With just two games remaining, the loss coupled with Brownwood’s win over Stephenville closes the door on the Lady Rams’ post-season hopes.
Glen Rose (30-2, 8-0) opened with a 12-4 lead after the first quarter and never looked back. Kahlea Samples scored six points with six rebounds and three blocked shots. Addyson Moore and Emery Boswell scored five points each, with Boswell pulling down nine rebounds. Aniya Richardson provided four points with Jaylee Newman and Maci Ruelas adding three points each.
Tonight’s action in Stephenville begins at 5:45 p.m. with the ladies’ contest followed by boys at 7 p.m.
