Nix Rental Homes Offers Historic Cullen Grimes Building Rent-Free for Community Revitalization

An historic building in Mineral Wells is being offered rent-free by Nix Rental Homes to individuals or organizations with plans to revitalize it for community benefit.
The Cullen Grimes building, located at 1800 NE 1st Avenue, was originally constructed in 1920 as the Barber School. An addition in 1942 was named after longtime principal Cullen Grimes.
Nix Rental Homes announced on social media that the building is available at $0 monthly rent. Interested parties must cover property taxes, insurance (including liability coverage), and utilities. The building, though aged and requiring cleanup, houses a fully operational gym ready for use or renovation.

“This is a chance to turn community wishes into reality,” the company stated.
“We are offering Cullen Grimes FOR FREE to someone who can breathe new life into it.”
The opportunity is specifically aimed at projects that benefit the community, such as creating shelters, organizing activities for youth, or other valuable initiatives. Applicants must maintain insurance coverage on the property.

Furthermore, with a solid business plan demonstrating community benefit and a clear outline of intended actions, Nix Rental Homes is willing to consider donating the entire building outright.
Interested individuals or organizations are encouraged to contact Nix Rental Homes through their Facebook page or view the property at 1800 NE 1st Avenue to discuss their vision and begin the application process.
