Flying Pig Festival Returns with Popular “Kiss-A-Pig” Challenge

MINERAL WELLS, TX — The Mineral Wells Area Chamber of Commerce has announced the return of its popular “Kiss-A-Pig” contest for the second annual Flying Pig Festival.
The event, which began in 2024, is scheduled for June 13th & 14th, in Historic Downtown Mineral Wells.

The festival’s name celebrates the city’s revitalization, playing on the saying that The Baker Hotel would reopen “when pigs fly.”
Visitors can enjoy food and retail vendors, live music, entertainment, and kids’ activities throughout the weekend.
Nominations for the lighthearted Kiss-A-Pig contest are free and unlimited, with submissions being accepted through Monday May 12th.

The festival committee will then announce the top five nominees, after which donations will determine who wins the dubious honor.
The nominee who generates the highest donation total will earn the opportunity to kiss a pig on the “Gettin’ Piggy With It” Main Stage on Saturday, June 14th.
Continuing last year’s tradition, nominees can purchase “Kiss-A-Pig insurance” to potentially avoid their porcine smooch if selected.
Saturday, June 14th will feature the main festival activities from 10 am to 6 pm, while Friday evening, June 14th will include a kick-off concert and competitive cook-off.

The fundraiser is being promoted by the Mineral Wells Area Chamber of Commerce, Visit Mineral Wells, and the City of Mineral Wells, Texas.
