Mineral Wells Coach Cody Worrell Named Finalist for Statewide “Game-Changing Coach” Award
Mineral Wells High School head football coach and athletic director Cody Worrell has been named one of 60 finalists for the Game-Changing Coach Award, presented by Dave Campbell’s Texas Football in partnership with Ballogy.

This statewide honor recognizes high school head coaches who go the extra mile in developing young men both on and off the field.
Since joining Mineral Wells, Coach Worrell has led the football team to an impressive record, consistently guiding them to district playoffs and fostering a culture of excellence and sportsmanship.

In addition to his on-field success, Worrell established a mentoring program that connects local business leaders and community members with student-athletes, providing these young men with valuable life lessons and encouragement beyond the game.
Worrell is among an elite group of coaches from across Texas spotlighted throughout the 2024–2025 football season. Once all 60 finalists have been recognized, a public voting contest will determine the Game-Changing Coach of the Year.

The award aims to celebrate not just wins and losses, but the lasting impact coaches make in their schools and communities.
Congratulations to Coach Worrell on this well-deserved recognition!
