Desiderio “Desi” Flores, 81, of Mineral Wells, Texas, passed away peacefully on May 23, 2026, surrounded by the love of his family. He was born on February 22, 1945, in Mathis, Texas, to Felipe and Eva Flores. He was named after his maternal grandfather.

Desi was a devoted husband, father, grandfather, brother, and uncle. Above all, he was a faithful believer in Christ Jesus whose love for God shaped the way he lived and the way he loved others. Through his faith, he raised his family to seek God and stay close through every season of life.

He never knew a stranger. Desi was known for his laughter, joking spirit, strong opinions, and the ability to make people feel welcome. He found joy in fishing, cooking, reading his Bible, listening to music, dancing with his loved ones, and working outdoors – whether building, remodeling, or landscaping. His hands were rarely still, his home and family were always at the center of his heart.

He is survived by his loving wife who took care of him until his last moments, Margie Flores; his children, Josie and Pablo Garcia, Michael and Erica Flores, Chris and Amanda Flores, Linda and Chris Grisham, Maria (Betsy) Walker, Jesse and Sandra Sandoval, and Juan and Tracey Sandoval; along with many grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and numerous nieces and nephews who will forever cherish his memory.

He was preceded in death by his parents Felipe and Eva Flores.

Honorary pallbearers include his grandsons Jonathon Walker, Christian, Adam, Samuel, and Daniel Garcia, and great-grandson Noah Mancilla.
