Early voting in Palo Pinto County increased approximately 37% compared with the 2022 general election, with 6,702 ballots cast ahead of Tuesday’s Election Day.

According to figures provided Monday by Palo Pinto County Elections Administrator Laura Watkins, the county recorded 1,809 more early votes than in the 2022 general election, when 4,893 ballots were cast.
Early Voting by the Numbers for Palo Pinto County
- 2026 General Election: 6,702
- 2022 General Election: 4,893
- Increase: 1,809 ballots (37%)
For additional context, the county recorded 2,907 early votes during the March 2026 primary election and 1,532 during the subsequent primary runoff. Those elections involved different contests and voter participation patterns.
The increase in early ballots does not necessarily reflect an equivalent increase in overall voter turnout. Final turnout figures will depend on Election Day voting and the total number of registered voters.
Voters who did not participate during early voting will have another opportunity to cast their ballots Tuesday, Nov. 3, when polls are open from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m.
