Last week the Lady Rams took on Brownwood and defeated them in 4 sets. The win over the Lady Lions secured Mineral Wells a spot in the first round of playoffs and tonight’s final District match will determine their position. Mineral Wells and Glen Rose are currently tied.

“Even though we are ready for the playoffs we still have to face Glen Rose again. The girls are wanting to get another chance at playing them,” said Head Coach Kimberly Branch.

The Lady Rams went down in 3 sets at Glen Rose in their first match up, but are looking for redemption tonight at home. The Junior Varsity and Freshman, who both beat Brownwood in the first matchup, will begin play at 5pm followed by the Varsity.

Coach Branch says the girls are working well together and are ready for the playoffs.

“We have been playing great as a team and everyone is contributing. Now is the time we should be at our best and I believe we are. Each game there isn’t a standout player,” claimed Branch.

“The setters, Brittany Delk and Hannah Perales are doing a great job of moving the ball around and putting our hitters in a position to make good decision on placing the ball. We’ve had exciting play from our DS (defensive specialists) led by Abbey Tincher and Isavel Ramirez. They are steady which is allowing the other DS, Sadie Roach, Hudson Hobbs, Kristen Riney, and Cloe French to feed off them.”
