Merry Wells Names Winning Parade Floats
Organizers for Merry Wells have announced the winners of the 2022 lighted Christmas parade. The theme was Christmas at the Movies. Drum Roll Please…..
The Merry Wells Award(Best Overall)-Worley’s Lube Center
Worley’s is no stranger to this award as they have taken it home in the past. This year they knocked it out of the park with a Movie Theater complete with a popcorn bar and a live TV playing movies. Characters from classic movies such as Elf and A Christmas Story waved to the crowd. The float was spectacular.
Best Use of Theme-Palo Pinto General Hospital
The hospital’s float paid homage to the classic holiday movie Frosty the Snowman carrying passengers with top hats and scarves.
Most Christmas Spirit- Mineral Wells Fire Department
The Griswold’s meet Rudolf was depicted on the MWFD’s float, complete with smoke!!
The Clark Griswold Award- Isaac’s Auto Detailing
This parade entry was a pickup truck completely wrapped in Christmas paper and was driven my inflatable snowman.
Best Use of Lights-AMR
The AMR float was aglow with beautiful lights but perhaps it was the Glow of Love that pushed them into the winners circle. Onlookers were treated to a live marriage proposal on the float in the middle of the parade. It was definitely Hallmark Movie material. See the float and the proposal in the video below.
