Lady Rams fall to top-ranked Glen Rose on the road

Class 4A’s top-ranked Glen Rose Lady Tigers claimed a share of the District 6-4A title after Tuesday’s 61-20 home win over the Mineral Wells Lady Rams.
The win improved the Lady Tigers’ record to 27-3 overall and 6-0 in district. Mineral Wells fell to 17-15 overall and 1-6 in district. The Lady Rams are last in district, one-half game behind Graham.
Mineral Wells will face the Lady Blues in the regular season finale on Feb. 6. The Lady Rams’ lone district win came against Graham on Jan. 19.
Sophomore guard Jaylee Newman led the Lady Rams with eight points, including one three-pointer. Cadence Colwell added five points with sophomore post Emery Boswell scoring on a made three-pointer while pulling down a team-high four rebounds. Kahlea Samples made two free throws, while Caitlyn Colwell scored a field goal.
The Lady Rams made just three of 23 field goal attempts while going 3-of-9 from behind the arc. Mineral Wells had just nine free throw attempts, making five.
