Five Warriors scored in double figures as the top-ranked Community Christian School Warriors blew past Lakewood Presbyterian, 86-25, on Tuesday to open the Texas Christian Athletic Fellowship Division II playoffs.
CCS (25-6) will take on Grace Academy (17-10), from Georgetown, on Friday in the semi-final round. Tipoff is set for 7 p.m. at Covington High School.
The winner will face on Feb. 19 the winner of the other TCAF Division II semi-final between Trinity Christian (Paris) and Methodist Children’s Home.
Lakewood Presbyterian (2-15) was no match for the CCS Warriors, especially playing on the Warriors’ City Gym floor. CCS jumped out to a 33-8 lead in the first period and never looked back.

Eighth-grade post Josiah Marquez was the game’s high scorer with 19 points. He added eight rebounds and three blocks to his stats line.
Senior point guard Price Horton was named Player of the Game for his 17 points, five assists, six steals and one block while turning the ball over just twice while directing the Warriors’ offensive attack.
Achieving a double-double for CCS was senior post Jonathan Blackburn, who scored 16 points to go with 10 rebounds. Senior post Braden Maness poured in 16 points while junior David Blackburn added 14 points to go with eight steals and six assists.
The Warriors shot 53 percent from the floor (36-of-68) while making 10 of 17 free throws attempted (57%).

CCS used tenacious defense to produce points, totaling 18 steals and six blocked shots while pulling down 34 rebounds (17 coming on both the defensive and offensive ends of the floor). They kept mistakes to a minimum, turning it over just 10 times while no Warrior committed more than two fouls.
