Mineral Wells High School Athletic Hall of Fame Announces 2026 Inductees


The Mineral Wells High School Athletic Hall of Fame has announced its 2026 induction class, honoring former student-athletes, historic teams and longtime contributors who helped shape the tradition of excellence in Mineral Wells athletics.
The induction ceremony is scheduled for Saturday, June 13, 2026.
This year’s class includes the 1959 Mountaineer Football Team, the 2012 Ram Baseball Team, Craig Holamon, Rascellis Williams, and Tony Munger.
1959 Mountaineer Football Team
The 1959 Mountaineer football team remains one of the most celebrated squads in school history after finishing 8-2, with losses only to eventual state champions Breckenridge High School and Brownwood High School. The team scored 30 or more points in six games and recorded wins over Weatherford, Waxahachie, Grand Prairie, Stephenville, Graham and Vernon.

2012 Ram Baseball Team
The 2012 Ram baseball team captured the District 7-3A championship and made one of the deepest playoff runs in school history, advancing to the regional semifinals with a 22-10 record. After an 8-8 start, the Rams won 14 consecutive games during a memorable postseason push.

Craig Holamon
Craig Holamon is being recognized for decades of service promoting local athletics through his work as longtime sports editor of the Mineral Wells Index. His coverage of student-athletes and teams helped preserve generations of Mineral Wells sports history.

Rascellis Williams
Rascellis Williams enters the Hall of Fame after an outstanding career as a three-sport athlete. He won the 2015 Texas state championship in the high jump, set the Mineral Wells school record at 6-foot-8, and later earned multiple All-American honors at Tarleton State University.

Troy Munger
Tony Munger, a 1953 Mineral Wells graduate, excelled in football, basketball and track. He won the Texas state title in the 220-yard dash before later playing football for Army Black Knights and retiring as a U.S. Army lieutenant colonel.
The 2026 class represents generations of Mountaineer and Ram pride, celebrating athletic achievement, leadership and lasting impact on the Mineral Wells community.
